Disaster management

Community Disaster Management series
When the tragic Bali Bombings occurred in 2002, Petra joined the team of local volunteers to help manage the many needs for the emergency response and recovery process.
This experience taught her that community capacity to directly respond to, and reduce the risks of disasters was a critical need at the community level and she worked together with local and international experts to develop a series of community self-help and education tools to make disaster management more the key principles of effective disaster management accessible at the community level. These practical self-help resources have been used Indonesia and world wide. The series includes a self help manual, games,  activity books and other resources that teach community based disaster management and environmental stewardship.
